KMC streamlines essential commodities rate in Kohima

Sale of ducks banned till further notice

The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has undertaken an exercise to streamline rate of certain essential commodities in the town.


For the convenience and benefit of the general public, daily market rate board shall be affixed at the following locations: High School Junction, Tin Patti, Razhü Point, Super Market, Phoolbari, TCP Gate, PWD Junction, T Khel Market, AG Junction and Jail Colony, according to KMC administrator Kovi Meyase.


In case of any complain arising, citizens have been informed to contact either the Sr. Market Inspector or the Sr. Enforcement Inspector @ 9436203061/8119018161.


It is also notified that henceforth, sale of ducks in Kohima shall be banned with immediate effect till further notice due to some inconvenient (High price).


The revised rate of fish within Kohima municipality now stand at: Borali- Rs 270 per kg, Elis- Rs 500, Goicha- Rs 330, Katla- Rs 220, Kuchia (eel) Rs. 380, local fish- Rs 220, Magur (Thailand)- Rs 180, Pamplet- Rs 170, Pankaj- Rs 170, Patieya- Rs 430, Prawn (Big)- Rs 580, Prawn (Small)- Rs 580, Singi- Rs 680, Aihla (Milk Fish)- Rs 210, Mirga- Rs 190, Bhagal- Rs 180, Grashkat- Rs 190, Bachamash- Rs 410, Rani- Rs 430, Bicket- Rs 170, Tangra- Rs 450, Moka- Rs 300 and Ari- Rs 450.


Fowls (Per kg): Local- Rs 400, Broiler- Rs 150, Layer- Rs 230, Kroiler- Rs 230 and Fillister- Rs 210.


Mutton (Per kg): Cut meat (Dry)- Rs 560, Head- Rs 250, Intestine- Rs 250 and Legs (4 Piece)- Rs 150.


The order stated that if the meat is detected to be administered with water, it shall be seized and license shall be cancelled.


Vegetables (Per kg): Tomato (Assam)- Rs 35, Beans- Rs 50, Beans Local Rs 50, Green Chilly (Micro) Rs 70, Green Chilly (Tepa)- Rs 60, Bitter Gourd (Big)- Rs 90, Bitter Gourd (Small)- Rs 70, Brinjal- Rs 30, Cabbage- Rs 20, Carrot- Rs 55, Cauliflower- Rs 40, Cucumber- Rs 55,Garlic (Chinese)- Rs 90, Garlic (Indian)- Rs 80, Ginger- Rs 50, Pumpkin- Rs 30, Peas (Motor)- Rs 60, Onion- Rs 30, Potato- Rs 20, Palak- Rs 50, Kashmire Chilly- Rs 100 and Lemon- Rs 7 (per piece).


Fruits (Per kg): Apple Kashmire (Small) Rs 120, Apple Net- Rs 170, Apple (Australian)- Rs 240, Apple (Green) – Rs 290, Apple (Chinese) Rs 240, Pomegranate- Rs 140, Grapes (Black)- Rs 180, Grapes (Green)- Rs 140, Orange (Kinu) Rs 70, Banana (Jahas)- Rs 70 per dozen, Banana (Small) Rs 50 per dozen, Coconut- Rs 50 per piece and watermelon- Rs 60 per piece.


The order stated that the rate is subjected to be revised as and when deemed necessary by the authority.
