KMH condemns alleged child molestation in Noklak

Noklak, August 2 (MExN): Khiamniungan Menyiu Hoikam (KMH) has condemned the “ugly act of Reny Wilfred, the former Deputy Commissioner of Noklak who had molested two minor girls on different occasions, aged 14 and 17 at the time of incident.”

KMH stated that it is in utter shock and dismayed by the actions committed by a person who is in high stature. “Child sexual abuse should not remain a hidden and an unarticulated issue anymore,” it affirmed in its condemnation while urging every sensible and responsible citizen to break the “conspiracy of silence” on child sexual harassment. With all strength, KMH appealed the law enforcing authority to initiate free, fair and thorough investigation on the case. “The accused, irrespective of his high position be awarded with the befitting punishment which would act as a deterrent for the future,” it demanded and reiterated its appeal to the competent authority to investigate the case as expeditiously as possible.

“The KMH whose sole allegiance is to safeguard women and their rights also shares solidarity with the victims and their family,” it asserted.
