Dimapur, June 8 (MExN): Spark Cricket Club (SCC) defeated United Brothers (UB) to conclude the first round of the ongoing Knights Open Cricket (Tennis Ball) Tournament. SCC won the toss and elected to bat and scored 209 in the alloted 20 overs.
UB replied but with only 61 runs getting all-out in 19 overs. Govind of SCC was man of the match. He scored 34 runs and claimed 2 wickets. His team amtes, Ritesh and Rakesh also chipped in with scores of 42 and 35 respectively. Tokhezhe of UB took 2 wickets. Kughavito with 24 runs was the highest scorerer for UB.

In the first match of the second round Spark Youngster Club (SYC) beat Lagaan Cricket Club (LCC). The latter winning the toss and elected to bat. LCC put on board 122 runs in 18 overs while losing all their wickets. SYC could easily chase the target in as many overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Kalia of SYC was man of the match for his 18 runs and 2 wickets. For LCC, Akash took 4 wickets while Shampol scored 27.
2nd Match
The second match between DEE Sumi Students Union and Thahekhu XI, ended with the latter prevailing over the former. DEE SSU won the toss and opted to bowl first. Thahekhu XI scored a whopping 183 in 20 overs while losing 9 wickets. DEE SSU in reply managed only 48 runs getting all-out in 14 overs. Amugah of Thahekhu XI was man of the match. He scored 34 and took 2 wickets in 2 overs.Rueben was the highest wicket taker for DEE SSU with 3 scalps while Akum claimed two.
