Kohima citizens directed to clear building materials, off road vehicles from roadsides

Kohima, October 1 (MExN): Kohima Deputy Commissioner Gregory Thejawelie has prohibited dumping of construction or building materials, stone, logs, timbers and parking of off-road vehicles along the roads and highways.

Stating that the presence of such materials causes traffic obstruction and pedestrian movement, the DC also issued an order directing owners to remove such materials and off-road vehicles immediately. In case of failure to comply with the order, the materials shall be removed, confiscated and disposed off as deemed fit and defaulters will be penalized. Off-road vehicles shall also be towed away by the police at the expense of the owners, it added.

In the exigent case whereby loading or un-loading of such materials is inevitable, concerned owner should ensure that such activities and removal are made between 6:00 pm to 7:00 am and not prior or after the scheduled time, the order stated.
