Kohima, December 1 (MExN): The Kohima District Level Awareness programme on Adoption of BHIM-UPI in Panchayati Raj Institutions was held at DC Conference Hall Kohima on November 29.
In his keynote address, Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant said that there is no difference between central- state-village, all the three stakeholders, all the three play an important role in their own ways. Kumar said that Panchayati Raj/Village Council plays a pivotal role for the growth of the nation. He also said that the world is changing at a faster pace with everything digital and therefore asked the village council chairmen and secretaries to have grassroot democracy updated accordingly to move forward with the rest of the world. He further asked the village representatives to become smart in operating new systems so as to let the villagers learn more easily and urged them to clear any doubts from the experts before leaving the meeting.
The details and Adoption of BHIM-UPI and its importance was highlighted by District Development Manager (DDM), NABARD, Phoji while Technical aspects of using BHIM-UPI and its benefits was enlightened to the stakeholders by K Kanmei, Branch Manager, SBI, Jakhama.
VCCs and VDB Secretaries under Kohima District attend the meeting. The programme was chaired by Moasunep Jingru EAC (Dev) Kohima.
