The Kohima District Level Teachers’ Award Ceremony 2022 took place today under the aegis of District Education Officer, Kohima at DEO Kohima conference Hall.
The recipients of the award included; Kedivi Mekro, P/T, GPS CWSN Lerie, Kohima, Kikrusenuo Suohumvu, GT (Science), GHS Kiruphema, Rokopheno Chase, GT (Maths), GHS Chandmari and Vikehienuo Belho, GT, Baptist High Kohima.
The award which carries, cash and citation, was handed over by Shanavas C, Deputy Commissioner Kohima and Thavaseelan K, principal director, School Education, Nagaland.
Speaking on the occasion, Shanavas congratulated the recipients and appreciated their efforts.
Also thanking teachers for teaching moral values to the school children, he said “You are the change makers.’
Thavaseelan said “All our teachers have been and continue to be a source of inspiration for our students. Your role is unparalleled and irreplaceable.”
He also saluted the teachers for their resilience and resourcefulness.
Thank you for your dedication and commitment, he added.
Earlier, Emilo Patton, DEO Kohima delivered welcome address while special number was presented by a student of Baptist High Kohima and “Ode to Teachers” by Nilotoli T. Chishi of GHS Chandmari.
National Teachers’ awardee (2021) Swudesenuo Zao also exhorted the gathering.
The programme was chaired by Benny Dziivichii while Dziesetuonuo, ADEO Kohima invoked God’s blessing.
Kedivi Mekro spoke on behalf of the awardees while vote of thanks was proposed by Kevizeno Savino, SDEO Chiephobozou.
