Kohima, February 15 (MExN): The monthly Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at DPDB’s Conference Hall, Kohima on February 15. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie NCS.


A DIPR report stated that the meeting reviewed the last meeting minutes and deliberated on the agenda for identification of Aspirational Block where DC informed the house on the decision of Cabinet to identify one such block from each districts. The House deliberated on the matter and further taking into account the proposal submitted by the RD Department, the House decided to recommend Tseminyu block as Aspirational Block for Kohima district to the Government for further necessary action, it said.


Meanwhile, the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) also highlighted on the ongoing activities, particularly the Mega Legal Service Camp which started with Longleng district. It has now covered ten other districts and schedule to culminate in Kohima on February 23.


Project Coordinator, NLSA Limasenla Longkumer informed the house that the main idea of the camp is a service delivery model providing services in real time. During this camp the general public will have opportunity to directly connect with government departments and get oriented to various welfare programs/schemes of the government where she requested the line Departments to extend cooperation and assist them by providing information on various schemes and programmes available in their respective departments in order to have a successful camp. She also informed that the Legal Service Authority booths will offer legal assistance in filling forms, drafting affidavits etc. Volunteers of various booths will assist senior citizens, the differently-abled and daily wage earners to register for various government sponsored benefits and schemes.


During the meeting, review of Village Adoption Committee activities was also taken up, where various committees presented their activities report. ADC Kohima and Core Committee Convenor, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa requested the committees to expedite their action plan and wind up their activities within the time frame. She also reminded the DPDB members to participate in the Mini Hornbill Sekrenyi Festival to be held on February 25 and 26 at Kohima Local ground and February 27at Touphema.


Presenting his departmental activities, Executive Engineer South Division, PWD (R&B) Kohima, Er. Vizotuo Seletsu highlighted on various type of project looked after by the division, various works under SRDP 2017-2018, PMGSY, annual maintenance 2018-2019 under State Plan, Centrally Sponsored Scheme and improvement of city road at Kohima.
