Champion Kohima Dynamic with dignitaries on January 24

Kohima Dynamic Cricket Club today emerged champions of the Gold Cup 50-Ball Cricket Tournament played at Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School Ground, Kohima.
The three-day six-a-side tennis ball tourney organized by Nepali Baptist Church (NBC), Kohima as part of its year-long Golden Jubilee celebration had 18 teams from within and outside Nagaland.
Playing the final match, Kohima Dynamic defeated Raptors by 100 runs.
Dynamic batting first scored a huge 188 runs with the complete 50 balls while Raptors were bundled at 88 runs only.
The champions received a cash award of Rs. 25,000 along with trophy and medals while runners up got Rs. 15,000 with trophy and medals.
The Man of the Series cash award Rs. 5000 and trophy went to Vishal of Dynamic Kohima for a total of 212 runs and six wickets.
He also got the Best batsman award of Rs. 2000 with trophy.
Best bowler (Rs. 2000 with trophy) was bagged by Anil Gurung for claiming 6 wickets in the tournament.
Two other losing semi-finalist teams were Nepali Baptist Church (NBC) Zubza and Youngsters CC.
The man of the match of the final went to Tapu of Dynamic for scoring 99 runs (not out). He received Rs 1000 donated by the Commandant of 4th NAP Vizoto Hibo and a medal.
Earlier, gracing the valedictory ceremony, Santu Thapa, President, Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima appreciated the organisers, saying” In today’s fast-changing world, such initiatives help guide our youth in the right direction-keeping them physically fit, mentally strong, and morally grounded.”
“When the Church takes the lead in such constructive activities, it sends a powerful message of holistic development-of body, mind, and spirit,” he said.
Encouraging the players for their enthusiasm and sportsmanlike conduct, he said whether you won or did not win, remember that every match played and every effort made is a victory in itself.
GPPK president along with the Board Chairman of NBC Kohima & Convener Golden Jubilee Dr Gopal Basnet, Pastor Jack Thapa and Convener of Golden Jubilee Sports Committee Narayan Bahadur handed over the prizes to the winners.
The valedictory session compered by Convener Golden Jubilee Convener Committee, John Thakuri started with scripture reading & prayer former Pastor NBCK Surjay B Sapkota while Church Secretary Uttam Thapa pronounced benediction.
