Elite Dental, Prosthodontics and Implant Centre, an initiative of a young prosthodontist, Dr Avei Puro was formally opened at Billy Graham Road, Kohima on Saturday (October 1). The Prosthodontics and Implant Centre was inaugurated by Rev Vezopa Rhakho, Pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church, Kitsubozou, Kohima with an act of blessing through prayer and cutting of the ribbon.
In his short address at the gathering of family, friends and well-wishers, Rev.Vezopa Rhakho congratulated the young doctor for the noble venture, which, he also hoped would serve as a blessing for all those who come to avail the service.
Dr Avei Puro has a special love for the elderly even while recognising that as we age, the importance of maintaining oral care also increases. Coincidentally, “Elite Dental” was established on the International Day of Older Persons which falls on October 1.
Reiterating his love for the elderly, he stated hope that the Centre would especially benefit the senior citizens of the community. It is his endeavour to be of service to the community through this newly inaugurated initiative.
Elite Dental, Prosthodontics and Implant Centre will be opened 6 days a week from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Mention may be made here that Dr. Avei Puro has a BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) and MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) in Prosthodontics from Rajasthan University of Health Sciences.
Common prosthodontics treatments, he also explained, “include dentures, dental implants, crowns and bridges.” A prosthodontist is a dentist who specializes in treating complex dental and facial matters, including the restoration and replacement of missing or damaged teeth with artificial devices.
Dr Avei Puro hails from Kikruma village under Phek district. He grew up in Kohima and studied at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Kohima, from where he passed his high school. He subsequently studied at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma before pursuing dentistry.
