Kohima Law College observes World Consumer Rights Day

Kohima, March 14 (MExN): The Kohima Law College organized ‘World Consumer Rights Day’ a day ahead on March 14.  In the keynote address NVCO, President, Kezhokhoto Savi presented on various areas towards promotion and protection of consumers’ rights such as highlighting ‘Consumer Protection Act as one of the social welfare legislation’, rights and duties of consumers, food as well as services safety, the year theme – “Fair Digital Finance” etc. It continued with interaction session, stated a press release issued by Media Cell, Kohima Law College. It stated that the importance of observing World Consumer Rights Day in the country especially Nagaland is beneficial to the citizens as it creates better awareness which is still lacking in our society especially in rural areas and the Day reminds the citizens to remember their rights and responsibilities as a consumer and the slogan – ‘An alert consumer is an asset to the nation’ speaks volumes on this occasion.  “The Government of Nagaland is expected to give more importance to observe in a much more enlightenment manner,” the release stated.
