Kohima Lirmenlar Telongjem presented a traditional song during golden jubilee celebration of KLST in Kohima on October 5.

Kohima, October 9 (MExN): The Kohima Lirmen Senso Telongjem (KLST) celebrated its Golden Jubilee on October 5 last at Capital Convention Centre, Kohima.
Gracing the occasion, Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Government of Nagaland, exhorted the gathering emphasising on the rich cultural tradition of the society. He said the society requires critical philosophy which should be open for all and people should be bold enough to point out the wrong from the right by accepting the critique of others.
He also said that the society is in need of social engineering and transformation which can only be achieved through 'unity and co-operation' as enshrined in the theme of KLST.
KLST president, T Ngangshimeren Longchar delivered the welcome address while KABA Associate Pastor, Imsutoshi Lemtur, invoked God’s blessing. Bendangpokyim, in his exhortation message, recounted the vision with which the Union was formed and moulded towards celebrating its 50th year of existence, reminiscing on the many trials and challenges that the founding members faced during those days when accessibility was not at the level that it is today.
Kohima Lirmen Students’ Union scored the opening act of the Jubilee programme with a grand presentation; KLST treasurer, L Mayang Aier highlighted on the 50-year journey of KLST; Kohima Lirmenlar Telongjem enthralled the audience with a traditional song; and Menangkokla Imchen also presented a special song on the occasion.
The occasion also witnessed greetings and salutations from Kohima Aor Telongjem, Kohima Japukong Senso Telongjem, Lirmen Village Council, Lirmen Senso Mungdang and Dimapur Lirmen Senso Telongjem. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by KLST Jubilee Planning Committee, convenor Moameren Imchen.
