Kohima Mega Dance Fiesta: Season 2- The next level

Kohima Mega Dance Fiesta: Season 2- The Next Level (workshop and competition) organized by The Uni-Vibes in collaboration with Modern Dance Sports Association of India will be held from November 7 to 9.  


Kevy Shuya, Managing Director of The Uni-Vibes and other core team members said that this is the second year of Dance Fiesta and the sole objective of Kohima Mega Dance fiesta was to uplift dance in Nagaland, create a platform for the upcoming dancers, educate them with the basic knowledge and root culture of dance and to prepare them for the real dance world. They also said that, for this reason, this event is not only organized as dance competition but also dance workshop which creates a common platform for everyone to learn from one another.


The Dance Fiesta online audition began from September 1 to October 15 and offline forms were available at Central Café, Viliethe Complex, Kohima. The Competition categories of Dance Fiesta 2019 includes Open Dance Competition, K-Pop Contest and 2 vs 2 All style Battle.


The group also announced that the Winner of Open Dance Competition will represent Nagaland at National Championship in January 2020 and also an exclusive video contract from Richa Productions. The Winner of K-Pop contest will win a Coupon worth Rs 10,000/- sponsored by Active Stations, Kohima. They will also get the opportunity to perform during Hornbill Festival.


Winner of 2 vs 2 All style Battle will win Cash prizes and Certificates.


Lamgrace Thouthang, team Coordinator and also the Judge of the Fiesta said that it is her dream to take Nagaland dancers at World Championships. “We are so happy to announce that we are affiliated to Modern Dance Sports Association of India (MDSAI) which is affiliated to International Dance Federation. She also said that it will start opening doors for deserving dancers to start earning their livelihood through dance. Dance is an Art, I hope people will start appreciating and respect this Art form like any other profession,” she stated.


The organizers also said the event would bring about more joyful atmosphere, sparkled with more Dances, Songs, Beatbox battles by various Artists across Nagaland. 


The workshop will begin from November 7 and 8 at 4:00 pm at state Academy Hall Kohima and Semi Final on November 8. The grand finale of the mega dance fiesta will start from 11:00 am at State Academy Hall, Kohima on November 9.
