Kohima, October 3 (MExN): A peer team of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) visited Model Christian College, Kohima for the 2nd cycle of national assessment and accreditation on September 29 and 30.
The peer team was led by Chairperson, Dr Ajay Taneja, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor and Head Dean of Science, Department of Chemistry of Dr BR Ambedkar University, Agra; Member Coordinator, Dr Anupama Roy, Professor, Centre for Political Studies, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi; and Dr SR Jyoti Kispotta, Principal, Nirmala College, Doranda, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
The exit meeting was conducted by the college Principal, Dr Luke Rymbai. Speaking on the team’s observation of the college, the team emphasised that the college has potential for greater heights. Dr Ajay Taneja, Chairperson, NAAC peer team, commented that the community of the college has “a sense of belongingness” which he termed as a positive trait. He stated that the college needs to increase enrolment, encourage research activities and urged the college to introduce PG programmes in the future.
