Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): In Kohima, “World Consumer Rights Day” was observed at PR Hill junction market, by conducting a workshop on the theme, “Consumer! Discharge your responsibilities, assert your rights”.
A press note issued by Haikambea assistant controller, Legal metrology and Consumer protection, Kohima informed that books, leaflets on the rights and duties of the consumers were distributed to the general public. The programme was organized by the Department of Legal metrology and Consumer protection, attended by members of District Consumers forum, NGOs and public. The note also mentioned that raids, seizure and prosecution were also carried during the workshop led by Chullen Chang, inspector and his team, where several popular motor parts shop, bakeries, general stores were prosecuted for violation of LMCP Acts and Rules.
