Kohima, November 20 (MExN): Acting on a tipoff regarding extortionists demanding money from business establishments in Kohima Town, the Kohima Police on Saturday in a concerted effort by North Police Station and District Anti Extortion Team, led by SDPO (North) Kohima conducted an operation and successfully arrested one “S Timothy Swu (28), an active member of NPGN/NNC (Non-Accord) along with his accomplice identified as Nokget Konyak (25).”
The PRO DEF Kohima in a press release also stated that on Sunday, during a routine checking of vehicles, personnel of Khuzama Police inter-state check gate, detected and recovered 50 soap cases of suspected heroin weighing approximately 600 gms. which was concealed in a car (Hyundai i20) coming from the neighbouring state of Manipur. One person namely Md. Wahidur (30 yrs) has been arrested in this connection.
