Kohima Police calls for cancelation of ILP for three

Kohima, November 12 (MExN): The Kohima Police on November 12 requested the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima to cancel the Inner Line Permit (ILP) of three persons who were arrested for allegedly selling “prohibited liquor” on November 2.   In a letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, the police informed that the three were caught selling the Indian Manufactured Foreign Liquor (IMFL) during a surprise raid on shops suspected of selling the same at Jail Colony, Kohima.   The three accused identified as Surender Kumar, Mantosh Kumar and Bino Prasad – all from Motihari District of Bihar - voluntarily admitted to selling the assorted liquor in their shops for “easy money,” the police claimed in the letter signed by the Sr Superintendent of Police Kohima, Vekhosa Chakhesang NPS.   Stating that they might resume their illegal business again upon their release from the judicial custody, the Kohima police called for the cancellation of their ILPs “so as to refrain them from dwelling in the town and run illegal activities.”   In a separate letter to the Administrator, Kohima Municipal Council, the Kohima police informed that the trio running the two shops - Chandini and Lovely Pan Shop – were found selling the illegal liquor.   In this connection, the police asked the KMC to cancel their trade license in order to stop them from resuming their “illegal business in the capital” in the future.
