Kohima Police issues traffic regulation for assembly session

Kohima, August 1 (MExN): In view of the ensuing 8th Session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly beginning from August 3, the Kohima Police has issued traffic regulations as part of the security arrangement.

An update from the PRO of Kohima DEF on Sunday informed that only vehicles bearing passes with ‘X’ (white letter with blue background for legislators), ‘Y’ (black letter with red background for AHoDs/HoDs), ‘Assembly Logo’ (for Assembly staff), ‘LH’ (white letter with red background for police personnel and PS/PA), ‘O’ (black letter with green background for IPR/Media and other departments), and ‘on assembly duty’ (black letter with white background for staff bus/pool & dak vehicles) would be allowed entry to the Assembly Secretariat.

It stated that on August 3 and 5, no vehicles including two wheelers would be allowed to park by the roadside from 6:00 am till the assembly sessions are over the routes from BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island, from Raj Bhavan till Classic Island and from Classic Island till Assembly Secretariat via Razhü Point/Highschool Junction.

It also stated that heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply in Kohima town during Assembly session from 6:00 am till the session is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6:00 am during Assembly Session.

While anticipating positive co-operation from the public, the police informed that defaulting vehicles would be towed away and the charges for the same would be borne by the vehicle owners.
