Dr Samudra Gupta Kashyap launches KSCJ App on April 16.
Kohima, April 16 (MExN): Kohima Science College (Autonomous) Jotsoma has launched the KSCJ App, reportedly “the first-ever mobile application customized and developed for a higher educational institute in Nagaland.”
The KSCJ App was launched by Dr Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Chancellor of Nagaland University.
An update received here stated that the ‘KSCJ App’, conceptualised and developed by alumnus and software engineer, Rishav Sethi, is designed to streamline information dissemination, event management, and report generation for the college. With plans for future upgrades, the app will integrate with the college website, monitor attendance, and facilitate examination-related activities, marking a significant leap towards digital transformation in Nagaland’s academic institutions.
During his address, Dr Samudra Gupta Kashyap reflected on the historic ties between the Nagas and Assamese communities, emphasising the vast potential of the region’s indigenous youth. He urged faculty and scholars to adapt to the evolving landscape of higher education, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, recently implemented in the state. The Chancellor also stressed the importance of exploring regional job markets and contributing to the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and a ‘Viksit North-East’.
Accompanying the Chancellor was his wife, Dr Tapati Baruah Kashyap, who shared insights on literary pursuits and the future of academic writing.
The event witnessed participation from over 100 attendees, including Dr Rajendra Nath Babu (Associate Professor, Department of Education, Nagaland University), Principal, Vice-Principal, Dean, Controller of Examination, Heads of Departments, faculty members, research scholars, and students of KSCJ.
The programme was chaired by Dr Lilongchem Thyug, Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), with the welcome address delivered by Dr Temjenwabang, Principal of KSCJ. Dr Limatemjen, Professor and Dean of KSCJ, concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
