Kohima: Traffic advisory for 12th NLA Session

Kohima, September 18 (MExN): In view of the Twelfth Session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly on September 20 and 22, the Kohima Police has issued traffic regulations to be enforced as part of the security arrangement. 

In a press release on Sunday, the Kohima Police PRO informed that only vehicles with the following car passes would be allowed entry to the Assembly Secretariat: ‘X’ (Blue letter with white background) for legislators; ‘Y’ (Green letter with white background) for AHoDs/HoDs; ‘Assembly Logo’ for Assembly Staff; ‘LH’ (White letter with black background) for Police Personnel and PS/PA;‘O’ (Yellow letter with black background) for IPR/Media and other departments; and ‘On Assembly Duty’ (White letter with red background) for Staff Bus/Pool & Dak Vehicles. 

The PRO also informed that parking on the roadside on the following routes would be prohibited from 6:00 am onwards during Assembly Sessions: from BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; from Raj Bhavan till MS Classic Island; from Classic Island to Assembly Secretariat via Razhü point and High School; and from New CM Official Residence, Phezoucha to Assembly Secretariat. 

Additionally, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Kohima town during Assembly Session, from 6:00 am till the session is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6:00 am during Assembly Session, it said, adding that heavy vehicles will not be allowed to be parked along ‘D’ Block road. 

 While anticipating positive co-operation from the public, the police will tow away the defaulting vehicles and the charges will be borne by the vehicles owners, the PRO cautioned.
