KOHIMA, JANUARY 3 (MExN): The Koinonia Baptist Church Sports Meet 2020-21 commenced from December 15 and concluded on January 2 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. The event was held under the theme ‘Press towards the goal’ Philipians 3:14.
The seven day long sports meet witnessed various games and sports such as Rev Zotuo Football Trophy, Medotseilieü Volleyball Trophy, Neibalie T20 Cricket Trophy, Penalty Shoot-out, Indoor games, track & field events for juniors, etc.
A total of 11 teams, in both men’s and women’s categories competed for the various events at Tsiesema Playground, Koinonia Prayer Centre, TM Govt High School playground, Chiephobozou Indoor Stadium and Astro Turf playground and Indira Gandhi Stadium.
Kohima Town Club Football referees conducted the coveted Rev Zotuo Football Trophy and representatives of volleyball referees of Kohima district conducted the volleyball for Men & Women.
The Men’s fellowship team was declared the overall champions.
The most disciplined team was awarded to Nagamese Fellowship team while the most supportive personnel was awarded to Diezelie (Koinonia Prayer Centre).
Cash prizes were awarded to juniors on various track and field events.
The official referees for football were Michael Dul, Tekatemsu, Silvi Tepa and Kezevituo Vizo from Kohima Town Club.
The sports meet was powered by Koinonia Media Ministry and Crystal Cable.
The organising committee was headed by Neizokhotuo Belho, Convenor; Pastor Rokopra Mekro, Evagelist Zashekho Hibo, Vilhousielie Kengurüsie, Khriezovolie Suokhrie, Azho Sophie and Kikruneinuo Liezietsu (Member Secretary).
The sports meet also gave away prizes of Amazon shopping cards which were won by Kevi Ratuo and Keneinguzo Seletsu.
The closing function was graced by Rev Zotuo Kiewhuo, Senior pastor who also pronounced the benediction after giving away winning prizes & trophies.
