Konyak, Phom join Naga Women Hoho

Dimapur, August 26 (MExN): Konyak and Phom tribes have been inducted into the fold of the Naga Women Hoho Dimapur. The Hoho held its General meeting on August 26 at the Hoho Office and the induction of the two communities is part of the seven points undertaken at the meeting. According to a release issued by the Hoho through its president Watila P Behlo and General Secretary Orenponi Humtsoe the points are (given verbatim):

1.    The Naga Women Hoho Dimapur have inducted Konyak and Phom tribe into its fold.

2.    The House unanimously approved the emblem and the constitution of Naga Women Hoho Dimapur.

3.    The House resolved to honor the most distinguished Naga women during International Women’s Day scheduled next year 2007. The women who has that unique trait that stands out from the rest.

4.    To organize a “Cake Race” this December in order to encourage the young athletics amongst the bona fide Nagas (the date of this event will be intimidated through press after obtaining the permission from the district administration).

5.    As per the Naga Council resolution dated 21st April 2006 serial No. 3 clause (d) #1, nominated by designation basing on this resolution the house resolved that the NWHD representative to Naga Council will be henceforth to be represented by the incumbent president and General Secretary respectively. 

6.    The House also decided to abolish the present advisory according to the constitution amended in Article IX (nine) to select a legal advisor.

7.    The house also resolved to induct one Asst. Finance Secretary.
