Kopele Tepa wins NCPEDP-Mphasis Universal Design Award 2023

Kohima, October 2 (MExN): Kopele Tepa, Founder and Proprietor of Bumblebee Inclusive School, Kohima received the NCPEDP-Mphasis Universal Design Award 2023 in the category of Working Professionals. The award ceremony was held in New Delhi on September 28. 

A press release from the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities Nagaland: Kohima stated that the NCPEDP Universal Design Award is given out every year to those who have been doing exemplary work towards the cause of accessibility and thus ensuring a life of equality and dignity for people with disabilities. The awards are limited to work in India. This year with over 140 nominations from all over India, a total of 14 recipients were selected. 

The awards are given to three persons each under four categories: Category A: Persons with Disabilities; Category B: Working Professionals; Category C: Companies and organisations; NCPEDP-Mphasis Javed Abidi Public Policy Award; Jury Appreciation Award. 

The six member jury for award comprised of Arvind Gupta, NCPEDP Trustee and Head & Co founder of Digital India Foundation, Sarojini Subbiah CSR head, Mphasis, Shilpi Kapoor, CEO, Barrier Break, Anshu Gupta, Founder-Director, Goonj, Nidhi Bhasin, CEO, NASSCOM Foundation, and Rama Lakshmi, Senior Editor, The Print.
