Kohima, October 30 (MExN): The Kandi Public Union (KPU) today stated that it would go ahead with the imposition of bandh on NH 2 from October 31 from 6:00 AM to 6:00 AM of November 2.
The Union stated that it have submitted a number of representation to the government in connection to the construction of BDO office building at Chunlikha which was inaugurated on February 2012.
It stated that the said construction work order was issued to M/S J.K & Sons Constructions on 11 November 2016. However, it said, no action was taken up as requested, so the KPU submitted an ultimatum to the Government of Nagaland on October 6 to direct the contractors to start the construction within 15 days at the inauguration side. The Union said that it compelled to impose bandh since there is no sign of construction till date.
Paramilitary/Police, Magistrate on duty, Ambulance, Wedding Party and Press fraternitym however, will be exempted from the purview the total bandh.

With the KPU going ahead with its proposed 48-hour bandh, the All Nagaland Taxi Association Wokha Unit informed that the Wokha-Dimapur taxi will be plying via Wokha to Merapani–Dimapur Route during the bandh. However, the Wokha-Kohima Taxi service will be put on hold during the bandh.
