Tseminyu, October 16 (MExN): The Kandi Public Union (KPU) will impose a ban on National Highway 2 from October 22 as the Government of Nagaland has not lived up to its ‘ultimatum.’ In a press statement by KPU Public & Information Secretary, Khiyaro Kez, the KPU stated that it had submitted a number of representations to the Government of Nagaland in connection to the construction of a BDO office building at Chunlikha which was inaugurated on February 29, 2012. According to the KPU, the construction work order for the same was issued to M/S J.K & Sons Constructions on November 11, 2016. “But no action was taken up as requested so the Kandi Public Union submitted an ultimatum to the Government of Nagaland on October 6, 2017 to direct the contractors to start the construction within 15 days at the inauguration site,” noted the KPU, and that “Till date, there is no sign of construction.” “So the Kandi Public Union is compelled to impose a ban on National Highway 2 as and when the deadline expires. The Kandi Public Union will not be held responsible even if it creates inconvenience to the public in general,” it stated.
