Come last Friday of every month, the denizens of Kohima will be able to witness renowned and budding Naga singers at Dream’s Café in Kohima as Rattle & Hum Music Society launched a music platform billed as “Kra-Ker-Jak” here this evening.
The formal launching of the event was unique is in itself with six musicians jointly cutting the ribbon. The musicians were Oren Mozhui, Mhaseve Tetseo, Moajungla Jamir, Vehiitolii, Keviphriinuo Khezhie and Mele Pucho.
Moajungla Jamir and folk singers from Ruzazho village (Phek district) performed at the launching programme.
Rattle & Hum Music Society president Theja Meru said that “Kra-Ker-Jak” is all about celebrating greatness and excellence. He said the event is to celebrate our artists and also identify the youth and motivate them to reach to higher level.
Meru also said that Dream Café and Rattle & Hum Music Society always go hand in hand for promotion of youth and music for so many years now.
Rattle and Hum Music Society seeks to educate artists from the fields of Art, Music, Dance, Theatre and Literature of their role in the formation of Culture/ Counter-Culture.
Rattle and Hum also strives to provide a platform for artists to showcase their works and to facilitate the building of networks, whether artistic or commercial.
The ultimate endeavor of Rattle and Hum is to invest in the youth and their creative abilities.
