Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Neiba Kronu laid the foundation stone for the Women SHG Federation Pfutsero block building and also launched the Block Mission Management Unit NSRLM Pfutsero on November 17.
Kronu in his speech expressed gratitude to the Department’s Officials for their tireless efforts. While citing the example of foreign countries where the SHG movement has become a glittering success, he reminisced about the SHG scheme under NRLM where he took personal initiative and convinced the government to implement the same in 2012 and today it is an enterprise worth emulating for others.
He exhorted the gathering not to rely on government subsidy but work at grassroot level to augment their income. He highlighted the various developmental schemes initiated by the government which will directly/indirectly benefit them. He exhorted the gathering not to rest on today’s achievement but strive to make it a future asset for generations to come.
The programme was chaired by Zhalie Puro ADPM Phek, with opening prayer by Dr. T. Kapfo pastor PTBC, welcome address by Kedutsou Kronu, brief introduction by Wepretsou Kupa, vote of thanks by Veshetsholu and closing prayer by Wetsholou Kapfo.
The key note address was delivered by Azenuo Pienyu Addl. Mission Director SRLM Nagaland and a short exhortation by Razouvolie Dozo PD DRDA and District Mission Manager SRLM Phek. Altogether around 500 delegates from 185 SHGs under Pfutsero Block attended the programme.
In addition to these all HODs, VCCs, VDBs and public leaders were also present. The programme witnessed cultural presentation from Leshemi and Porba SHGs.
