Kigwema Students’ Union (KSU) today held 76th general conference under the theme “Beyond Basics- Creating a balanced future” in Kigwema.
Project Director, TAFMA, Government of Nagaland, Dr Hovithal Sothu called the young students to work beyond earning a degree while highlighting that without having a vision, one cannot create a balanced future.
Today said going basic is not just about He opined that there are so many graduates but many become idle after earning a degree. Dr Sothu explained that degrees are just qualifications that prepare us with the theory. He noted that being able to implement what we have studied is more important. Dr Sothu further urged students to work hard and have clear vision.
The speaker encouraged the students by taking examples of the students in the village who have achieved in different fields especially competitive examinations and added that although examinations are not easy and are becoming more competitive today, it was not impossible to crack. Dr Sothu however said that there are too many mediocres and one should target to reach the zenith.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Dr Asikho Kiso, Treasurer, KSU and welcome address was delivered by President, Menosielie Yhoshü.
Highlights of the programme included general and statistical Secretary reports. Experiences were shared by SDO (Electrical), Department of Power, Er. Khevono Zhasa and Research Fellow CRISP, Akho Phira. Various presentations were made during the extravaganza night and a debate on the topic, We are doing well in waste management in Kigwema.
The guest artist was Moko Koza. During the games and sports meet held on December 26 as part of the conference, pioneer entrepreneur, Atso Yhoshü was the match patron.
