MON, JUNE 5 (MExN): Strongly objecting to the practice of reverting of teachers’ post, the Konyak Students’ Union, Mon demanded for the reverted posts of Government Higher Secondary School, Mon to be brought back within 15 days. In a memorandum submitted to the Director of School Education, Nagaland, the KSU revealed that two teachers namely Shilu Ao GT, posted vice Saikia (promoted) and Imtilepden Ao GT posted vice A.K. Roy had been reverted with post elsewhere instead of joining the school in 1993. The union also conveyed resentment at the recent “transfer with post” of Ovungi Kikon, PU/UGT to GPS Diezephe under DIS Dimapur.
The memorandum demanded to know why a post being created in the interest of the public is reverted/transfer/detached at the whim of certain vested individuals, leaving the brunt of shortage of staff for students to bear. In connection to this the KSU requested the authority to revert all the three posts to Government Higher Secondary School, Mon within fifteen days adding that at any cost, the posts must be retained at the said school.
The union also stated that demand was made in the interest of the student community and public maintaining that at no cost the students/ institution should suffer. The KSU pleaded with the concerned authority to take the matter seriously and initiate remedial measures at the earliest cautioning against ‘untoward’ incident on failing to heed the genuine.
