Tuensang, November 12 (MExN): Khiamniungan Students’ Union Tuensang organized career awakening programme for high school and college students on November 7. The resource persons for the programme were Dr Ayangti Longkumer, professional career counselor and Pesha, staff, North East Christian University, Dimapur.
Ayangti talked about academics as a career option; its pros and cons; qualities needed in an academician and summed up her talk by stating, one’s research work should have a market value.
Meanwhile, Pesha Thsoilamthio highlighted importance of skills; difference between talent, hobbies and skills; how skill development is one of the alternatives to counter unemployment; and the creation of various jobs through skill development like farm based skill, handicrafts and artistic works.
The welcome note was addressed by Pongom Khiam, President KSUT and the vote of thanks was delivered by the union Vice-President.
