Students of ICFAI University during the programme organised in collaboration with KVIC on March 9.

Dimapur, March 10 (MExN): The ICFAI University Nagaland in collaboration with the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Dimapur conducted a series of programmes from March 9 to 10 with participants from both the undergraduate and postgraduate sections of the University.
According to a press release from the University’s Registrar on Friday, the first day began with Essay and Debate competitions on the topics “Swadeshi: Understanding Gandhi’s Vision of Self-reliance” and “KVIC: Post Liberalization and Globalization in India.”
It informed that Tsükane Rollen Duomai (MA English IV), Arenkala Walling (MA English II), Mary Momin (BCA II) secured the first, second and third positions respectively in the Essay Writing competition. The first position for the Debate was secured by Group-II comprising of members – Kihika Chopy (MLISc IV), Jungtisen Aier (MA Economics), Suneplong (MBA II), Avipra (BA IV), Thsilongla Sangtam (MBA II). The second position was bagged by Group-III comprising of all members from the BCom programme - Amar Kumar Das, Netu Kumari Chauhan, Avhi Debnath, Vikash Prasad and Heena Praveen, respectively.
On the second day, the Seminar was conducted in the presence of resource person Sani Pongen, DCO (KVIC). Pongen began his presentation with a brief history of KVIC and its functions. He spoke on the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) highlighting the eligibility conditions for the beneficiaries, EDP training, etc. He also added that the programme is designed keeping in mind the need for the students to be aware of the several government schemes, the release stated.
The programme concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners of the essay and debate competitions, it added.
