KVS Lumami students representing Nagaland at ‘Fit India Quiz’ National Rounds

Lumami, July 26 (MexN): Two students from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Lumami Nagaland University - Tanubhav Bhagowati and Waluniba Longchar are representing the State of Nagaland at the National Rounds of the Fit India Quiz, currently underway in Mumbai. 

On July 21, they were felicitated along with other Fit India Quiz state-level winners by the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Singh Thakur at a ceremony organised by the Ministry.

Cash prize amounting to Rs 99 lakh was awarded to 72 students and 36 schools from across the country, informed an official release from the Ministry. A first-of-its-kind nation-wide quiz, the Fit India Quiz  was launched by the MYAS with the aim to create awareness among students about India’s rich sporting history.

As per the release, the Quiz saw participation of 36,299 students in the preliminary rounds where 13,500 schools competed online on a platform hosted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Thereafter, 360 schools competed in the State Rounds which took place during the months of February and March.After a series of quarter-final and semi-final rounds, the finalists from 36 States/UTs have been identified for participating in the National Finals, it added. 

For the National Rounds, the prize money is Rs 25 lakh for the champion school and Rs 2.5 lakh for students (Rs 1. 25 lakh for each student). For the first runner-up, the school will get Rs 15 lakh and students will get R 1.5 lakh (Rs 75,000 each). The second runner-up school will get Rs 10 lakhs while the students will get Rs 1 lakh (Rs.50,000 each).
