Dimapur, February 3 (MExN): Two organizations - Konganian Welfare Forum (KWF) and Wakching Area Students' Union (WASU) has vehemently condemned what it termed as “hostile behavior” of one VDB Secretary of Old Area Village against the Block Development Officer (BDO) under Sanis Block on January 25.
In a condemnation note, KWF President Pangjei E Jesuhu and General Secretary Pangloi N Laktuhu stated that the VDB Secretary verbally abused and threatened to vandalize the Office of BDO and later in the evening came to the residence of the BDO and blank fired within the premises of his abode.
Blank firing is an act of "Attempt to Murder."The forum noted that all officers work towards the welfare of the community concerned and such heinous actions would only hinder development and no officer can render his service with such threat.
Furthermore, the KWF acknowledged Konyak Gazetted Officers' Union (KGOU) and Lotha Hoho for the timely intervention and also solicited the law enforcing authorities for appropriate action on the accused at the earliest. KWF further stated that all communities, irrespective of tribe/individual identity shall condemn and act justly against such defaulter.
Wakching Area Students' Union (WASU) in another separate statement from its President Chinge M Konyak also demanded that the BDO be immediately transferred from his present place of posting as his safety and well-being has been compromised.
