Lack of Christian ethics is a problem

The teaching of Jesus Christas found in Luke 14:26, states: “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, and even his own life—he cannot be My disciple.”It is hoped that each and every Christian Naga knows about this teaching.

According to theteaching of Jesus, Hehas strictly forbiddenus to follow or support his/her father or mother, wife or husband, brother or sister knowingly if and when they are ardently doing wrong or involving with others in doing wrong, butabide by His Law and must stand for the truth and right. Such as,a wifeof a Naga man says to her husband that “if you commit corruption and buy a beautiful car or anything good for our family,I will not enjoy it”. She follows the teaching of Jesus Christ.

If a mother/father supports his/her son or daughter when he/she did wrong against the other children, he/she failed to follow the teaching. Most of Naga communities are supporting their own kinship or tribe leader even if he is doing wrong. They are participating in the wrongdoing along withhim. They are failing to follow the teaching of Jesus Christ.  Because of this, now we have many factions and corrupted leaders. So, I am convinced that as we do not follow, the Christian ethics,it is a problem for us.

It might be happening as some of our fellow Christians are believing in the wrong teaching, saying; “Jesus Christ died for our sins, and no more is needed for us to follow or practice the Law”. Such teaching is completely wrong. If it is true, Jesus will not utter the aforementioned teaching. He assuredly said, if anyone doesn’t follow the teaching or His Law, he/she is not fitto be His disciple or Christian.  Many Christians who followed this teachingnever denied Jesus Christ until death,as seen from the disciples of Jesus Christ, and during Roman empire, and up to date. If we do not follow His teaching, we are denying Jesus Christ or we are not the follower of Jesus Christ.

I recall a remarkable event from 2005, one smart, young man was involving with a faction group, but the elderly leaders from his own Sub-Region scolded him for wrongly involving in factional activities. The elderly leaders did not support the young man. So, he stopped involving with the faction. This is a good lesson for all the Nagas.
