Mon, June 29 (MExN): The Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) has expressed resentment over the “unending” agitation in the Education department. Questioning why agitation has become a daily routine, KSU Education Secretary, Abo Wangsu in a statement maintained that the victimized students are tired of blame game. “Is the Department or the teachers supposed to be held responsible? Why the teachers are compelled to attend the agitation rather than their normal duties?” it queried. The KSU asserted that the Education department should have been one of the most active functioning departments among all, but it usually takes wrong turn. “The agitations adversely affect the schools performance specially in Mon district which has the lowest literacy rate as compared to other districts,” the statement further noted. It pointed out that in the recently declared NBSE (HSLC) result, there were many schools in Mon district which produced zero pass percentage. “This is the outcome of non-stationary of teachers and regular participation of teachers in agitation,” KSU said. In light of the above, KSU asked the department to resolve the issue at the earliest so that the teachers can resume their duties in their own posting place.
