Dimapur, July 24 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN on Saturday clarified that Lettinlen Hangsing who was one of the accused in the March 22 Lamhainamdi incident is “neither enrolled nor appointed as a member of GPRN/NSCN.”
In a statement issued through the MIP on July 24, the GPRN/NSCN stated that its name was “wrongly dragged in without properly ascertaining the fact.” It said that Hangsing “was a habitual offender and he was on many occasions sternly warned by the GPRN/NSCN authorities to mend his ways.” He was found creating public nuisances in the guise of NSCN for which he was under the observation of regional authorities, the statement read.
“The SIT report of indicting Lettinlen Hangsing as a member of NSCN is factually incorrect; therefore it is urged to ascertain the fact while disseminating such a serious case for public consumption,” it added.
