Landslides disrupt road communication in Phek

Multiple landslides triggered by rain disrupted the road communication in the different parts of Phek district.

Multiple landslides have been reported along Phek village-Phek Town, Khomi- Pholami, Phek-Losami, Chozuba-Thuvopisu, and Pfutsero-Lanye.

One vehicle got stuck in the mudslide along Khomi-Pholami road, which was retrieved later. No human injuries have been reported.

An official source informed The Morung Express that there was blockage in two to three locations along Pfutsero- Khomi- Phek road and the Madhucon Company has deployed machineries to clear the road.

Complete clearance of the blockage on this route is expected by Sunday (August 1).

Meanwhile, SP Phek has issued a travel advisory informing travelers not to take the Phek- Khomi- Pfutsero road due to landslides occurring at various places.

Pfutsero-Lanye-Phek road is also experiencing some landslides but have been cleared and is motorable now.

Travelers have been advised to be wary of rockslides, landslides, skids which may be occur due to fresh cutting of the road.
