Mokokchung, October 1 (MExN): The Langpangkong Tzukong Mungdang (LTM) held its 44th General Conference at Anu Mai Amphitheatre, Chuchuyimlang village on October 1. The host village is located some 28 kilometers away from Mokokchung town.

The conference was attended by Minister for PWD (H&M) Tongpang Ozukum, Imnatiba Advisor for Industries & Commerce, Labour & Employment and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Amenba Yaden MLA and other dignitaries.

Minister Tongpang said that the pandemic has taught us the lesson of going back to the land to be self-reliant and for a sustainable future. He, therefore, urged upon the delegates to retrace back how our forefathers advocated dignity of labour by giving more importance to development of land resource which is in our disposal.

He also assured that the three NLA members from the range would pursue the State Government to recognize Chuchu Town and Tzudikong as full-fledged Town Committee Council status as the population has reached the maturity stage compared to other full-fledged Town Committee Council.

The minister further congratulated the villages who have achieved 100 percent vaccination of eligible beneficiaries under the range and urged the remaining villages to be fully vaccinated for the safety of public health. “Follow the scientific and expert advised instead of being fooled by social media rumours,” he appealed.

Advisor Imnatiba encouraged the delegates to start an era where we appreciate and value other achievements just as we praise ourselves. He added that this factor of valuing ours and others achievements in the same scale would usher in an era of unity among the different tribes, clans etc.

MLA Amenba Yaden, asserted that our forefathers were farsighted and achieved many milestones with limited resources during their times and therefore, urged the delegates to strive higher than our forefathers on the foundation they have installed.

The main speaker of the Conference, Spongnenba Longkumer, Director CEC, Dimapur said that instead of living a long live without doing nothing and it is better to accomplished something for the society in our short  span of life  that will be cherished by all in-scripting in the  everlasting legacy.

During the conference, a new team of LTM was elected which will be led by president Marsanen (Merangkong) and General Secretary R Nukshi (Yaongyimsen) for the tenure 2021-24.
