Kiphire, November 19 (MExN): Latsü village under Kiusam EAC HQ in Kiphire district was inaugurated on November 18 by Thangpong, Head GB, Kiusam Town.
Thangpong was happy that many villages are getting recognized and inaugurated simultaneously in his area. Thanking the parent village, Sangkhumti, for allotting land to establish the new village, he said recognition is just a naming ceremony and cooperation towards the parent village, neighboring villages and a leader is mandatory if development is expected, according to a press release.
Mark Morekiu, PS to Parliamentary Secretary, VG/LRD/WRD in his short speech called upon every stakeholder to come together if one aspires for development.
“Leaders’ trust should not be lost just for a matter of paise,” he stated. “It is the good work of visionary leaders that brought a general development in the area.”
K. Topan, president TTC, while acknowledging the area and village elders, said the government trusts them because “we are united and truthful.” The government is doing the right thing in recognizing the village, he added.
On behalf of the parent village, Sangkhumti, Imtiba termed the recognition of the village an “unbelievable victory”.
