Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): The Liangmai Baptist Association (LBA) organised a pastors' refresher course under the theme "Fulfill Your Ministry" at Kuda Village Baptist Church from July 6 to 9, focusing on strengthening pastoral leadership and ministry.

The four-day programme was sponsored by Kuda Village Baptist Church and attended by pastors from churches under the association.

Resource persons Shurhovilie Savino, Dr Rokoneituo Nakhro, Rev Miazielie Sakhrie, Dr Vitsolie Vupru and Rev Kenilevi Khate conducted sessions on expository preaching, leadership and preaching, the Church of Jesus Christ, pastoral care and counselling, sermon preparation, integrity of a leader, church and mission, calling and commitment, Christian living, Christian giving, the Holy Spirit and personal soul-winning.

The speakers said pastors are entrusted by God to serve as spiritual shepherds responsible for feeding, leading and protecting their congregations. They emphasised that biblical ministry requires pastors to set faithful examples, preach sound doctrine, equip believers for ministry, devote themselves to prayer and exercise spiritual oversight with humility and a servant's heart.

During the morning devotion, led by Shurhovilie Savino and Khrieketounuo Yhoshu, church leaders were encouraged to remain humble, selfless shepherds who lead their congregations willingly rather than exercising authority in a domineering manner. They urged pastors to be good stewards rather than dictators so as to receive the "glorious crown" from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Liangmai Baptist Association Pastor Union president Kaininglung expressed gratitude to the pastor and deacon board of Kuda Village Baptist Church for hosting the refresher course. He said the programme would help nurture pastors serving churches under the association and strengthen their ministry as faithful stewards.
