DIMAPUR, AUGUST 24 (MExN): The Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA) today clarified that the rally held on August 22 was not organised by the association. A press release from the LBCA Executive Secretary, Rev Khonbemo P Kikon said that “the rally was, in fact, organized by LBCA (R) which was established by Lotha Hoho.”
“The Permission to organize the rally was specifically granted to LBCA(R) by Deputy Commissioner, Wokha and not to LBCA having its Mission Centre at Vankhosüng and with condition not to enter the LBCA Mission Centre Vankhosüng. It may also be mentioned that the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha granted the permission in spite of the direction of the High Court dated 03.08.2023 which is pending disposal,” the LBCA stated.
It further claimed that “organizing huge crowd from one or two churches to show a massive crowd does not represent the voice of 146 Churches under LBCA.”
“Till date the LBCA had exercised maximum restraint to stay away from the print media, but the LBCA feel the need to issue this press statement for public awareness so that this religious virus which is eating the Lotha Baptist Churches does not infect other religious organizations of other Naga tribes,” the LBCA stated.
