LEH holds seminar on self-reliance for unemployed youths

Wokha, August 12 (MExN): Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) in collaboration with Dr Apeni Lotha, Director, Higher Education, Kohima organised seminar on self-reliance for unemployed youths at Lotha Eloe Hoho building on August 12. 

Fuchumbeni Humtsoe (Fuchum Sweet Box Wokha), Thunglamo T Humtsoe (Urban Growers Wokha) and Thungdemo Kyong (Advisor, Team Metamorphosis, Wokha) were the resource persons.

In her address, Fuchumbeni spoke on the importance of self-reliance and self-sufficiency and encouraged the participants to venture into various platforms available to them. She shared that despite her parents request to be an employee in the government sector she chose to be a professional baker.

Despite challenges, failures and criticisms she overcome all odds to start the first professional baking establishment in Wokha. She advised the participants to be humble, respectful and customer friendly to achieve a long term successful career. Fuchumbeni said that she aims to support young educated local youths by providing them employment opportunity in her business establishment. 

Thunglamo stressed on the importance of local economy through agriculture and encouraged the participants to venture into agriculture sector by implying various modern techniques and plans for long term sustainable career. He highlighted on the cultivating Raja Mirja, mushroom and herbs which can be easily managed by starters at home. He also laid a note that branding, presentation and product quality are the main key in marketing. 

Thungdemo in his address advised the participants to choose the right career by realising their hidden talents which is the ultimate goal for long term successful career. He said not everyone cannot be accommodated in the government sector and therefore, an individual has to come out in their comfort zone and strive forward with true determination.” He encouraged the participants not to be liable but an asset for the society preparing for any challenges physically and mentally. 

A press release stated here that the programme commenced with invocation by LEH Treasurer Mhonchumi Kikon followed by welcome address from LEH President, Zuchobeni Ezung. Vote of thanks was delivered by LEH Finance Secretary Thungjano Kikon, and benediction by LEH Vice President Renboni Jami. The programme was chaired by LEH General Secretary Loseno Ovung.
