Phek, September 21 (MExN): Leshemi village traditional museum cum conference hall, and functional household tap connection was inaugurated by Commissioner & Secretary, Rural Development, Neposo Theluo, IAS at Leshemi village in Phek district on September 21.

All the three projects were funded under the 15th Finance Commission where 40% was basic grant and 60% is for functional drinking water and sanitation, informed a report from the state IPR. 

In his speech, Theluo congratulated the village leaders and the construction committee for the successful completion of the project with good workmanship. He advised the village leaders to elect good and honest leaders to take the village forward in any developmental activities to be taken up by the government. He also congratulated the Leshemi village for achieving the Best Performing Village under FHTC Project under Phek District. 

He mentioned that a compilation of all-round development activities taken up by the Department will be released and distributed to every village during the Rural Development Departmental General Conference on September 25. 

Neposo Theluo lauded the villagers for coming up with a museum and advised them to maintain and attract tourists which will generate income for the village. He also called upon them to collect more materials such traditional attires and artefacts. He requested the VDB and VCC to include WATSAN, Health, Village Education Committee in Grand Panchayat Development Planning Facility team. 

The programme was chaired by Kupelhi Losou, welcome note was delivered by Ngupelo Lasushe, VCC Leshemi and word of gratitude was presented by Wekupe Losou. A folk tune was presented by Kerimi Lühzokro.
