Kudethito Lohe B.Th 3rd Year Hope Institute of Theology, Dimapur The theological students from our neighbouring states are enjoying post-matric scholarship but why the theological students from Nagaland are not provided with the same, though the Nagas have the blessing of article 371(A) and so our state is called a state for Christ? How blatant and miserable our leaders are! They are always gullible to the idea of secularism in the wrong perception. We are already given the axe to grind but we ourselves deny our own right. What a loss it is! Kudos to the write up of Yiepetso Wezah which appeared on 28.6.2018, in local dailies in defence of the theological students of Nagaland for not providing post-matric scholarship to them. I should say the writer may be a mere citizen of Pfutsero town, yet he outdid the workload of our seasoned theological leaders in our state as far as protecting and nurturing theological studies is concerned which is pursued by our young boys and girls at various theological institutions on line with the calling of the Nagas. In fact, the supposed should be people are more or less remain silent instead of voicing out against the proposition. The department of higher education and the state government were deceptively succumbed to the diktas of the anti-christ perpetrators for which the theological students are denied with the facilities since 2015 onwards. We should not undermine the perspective of theological studies in our land as highlighted because the Nagas are blessed immensely in a variety of ways due to the Good News brought to us by the American Missionaries. Hence, the department of higher education and state government are hereby humbly solicited to take up the matter urgently with the concerned ministry to provide the same to the theological students at par with the secular students without further delay if the Nagas want our commitment to God be fulfilled. May the write-up serves a wake up call to all the responsible and concerned citizens to put our voice together to bring change in this regard.
