Dimapur, June 16 (MExN): The Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) on Tuesday expressed solidarity with all the patients and families of those affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and appealed for cooperation among the people in the fight against the pandemic.
In a press release issued through its MIP, the Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) observed that “in spite of the stress, we must continue working to keep everyone safe, calm and prepared to weather this crisis together.” As such it called upon frontline workers to be “more transparent and more responsive in protecting those most vulnerable.”
“We also request everyone to cooperate and follow the advice of the health authorities which is very crucial in minimizing the risk of transmission,” the release stated.
It further extended appreciation to all Nagas, especially Naga administrative officials, tribal hohos, NGOs, churches, students, village authorities, medical teams and social media for the strength and continued efforts to combat the pandemic. “Let us not allow intolerance and fear to undermine our fight against this deadly virus,” it said, while adding that everyone is vulnerable as the disease does not discriminate.
