The Lotha Football Championship (LFC) 2025 continued to captivate football fans at the local ground in Wokha, as two thrilling quarterfinal matches were decided by penalty shootouts on Monday.
The third quarterfinal saw Mount Morashen Club (MMC) face off against Old Changsu FC in a match that ended 0-0 after 90 minutes. With neither team able to break the deadlock during regular time, the contest went to penalties. MMC held their nerve and triumphed in the shootout, securing their place in the semifinals.
The final quarterfinal was similarly intense, with Lower Senchum taking on Humtso SA. Despite numerous chances at both ends, the match also finished 0-0 after the full 90 minutes. A penalty shootout followed, and it was Humtso SA who came out on top, edging Lower Senchum to advance to the next stage.
The results have set up two exciting semifinal matchups, scheduled for 21 January:
• XI Brothers vs. MMC
• Nitsyan vs. Humtso SA
