LFIC literary day concludes

Dimapur, November 7 (MExN): The Livingstone Foundation International College (LFIC) held its Literary day themed ‘Creative Arts’ on November 6 with an array of activities and a brief programme organised by the Department of English.

Various competitions were held with the purpose to encourage and enhance the improvisatory, artistic, and writing skill of the students, the LFIC informed in a press release on Sunday.

For story writing competition, the theme was open for the students to creatively outline and generate stories of thir own, the release stated. Sentijungla (Dept of Psychology) secured the first place followed by Kedithil Tetso (Dept of English) and Icheel Khoirom(Dept of commerce) who were placed second and third respectively.

The essay writing competition was based on the theme ‘My role model’ was won by Icheel Khoirom (Dept of commerce) and Longjong Ngonyen(Dept Of  Education)came second while third place was secured by Akili Y Sumi (Dept Of English) for sketching/painting competition themed ‘Addiction,climate change/crises’, Tiaienla Amri(Dept Of Psychology) achieved the first prize for painting, and Jine Singh(Dept Of political science) won the first position for sketching, the second place secured by Nukenjungla Lemtur(Dept Of English) followed by Anato Zhimomi(Dept Of English) who finished third.

The extempore speech competition was won by Ameka K Assumi(Dept Of Psychology) and Theyika K Zhimomi (Dept of Political Science) secured second position, while third prize was won by Atheli(Dept of English).

Earlier, Atheli (Department of English) compèred the programme while Sorikumla (Department of English) led the invocation prayer followed the college anthem which was led by Libo.

A special group song was presented by the English department students and benediction was pronounced by Nukenjungla Lemtur (Department of English).
