Lhisemia Students Union observes Annual Literary Day

The Lhisemia Students Union (LSU) celebrated 5th Annual Literary Day on July 27 under the theme ‘A Kaleidoscope of Young Talent’ at Khedi Baptist Higher Secondary School, Kohima Village.

Gracing the inaugural session as the special guest, Yawelie Noudi, Deputy Director, Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, said that education and learning transcend beyond the classroom and examinations but true learning involves holistic development and investing in skills.

He added that learning involves engaging in writing, public speaking, Art and music which can enhance academic performances by fostering creativity including critical thinking and building confidence, which also contributes to studies and individual growth.

He viewed that every individual has the potential and unique talents that can impact and contribute towards society by recognizing individuality and talents.

Stating that in the fast changing world, the ability to express oneself is vital and he observed that each student has their potential to enrich the culture and the society.

Noudi exhorted the students to be hardworking and manage their time well and also inculcate critical thinking.

Earlier, Dziesekhrietuo Khruomo, president LSU delivered welcome address while special song was presented by the cultural group and Dziesetuonuo Dzüvichü.

Later, in the valedictory programme, Lhisemiapfü Mechü Krotho (Lhisemia Women Organisation) attended the session as guest and its president Vikuonuo Khruomo addressed the students. 

Vote of thanks was proposed by Ketouneilie Chielie, Vice-president, LSU.

Competitions were held in Solo singing, Solo Instrumental, Elocution, Extempore Speech, Essay (English and Tenyidie), Spelling Bee (English and Tenyidie), Painting, Sketching, Debate and Quiz.
