Liangmai Pui Naga Ruangdi celebrates women’s day

Nepalese, Meiteis and Kukis, Nagas and other communities living in and around Kanglatongbi came together to celebrate International Women’s Day under the theme “Choose to Challenge” at Chil Chil Auditorium Namdilong, Kanglatongbi. It was organized by Liangmai Pui Naga Ruangdi (Liangmai Women Union) Manipur.

Renee Newmai, SDO, Tamei subdivision and Meena Bista, Pradhan of Kanglatongbi Gram Panchayat graced the occasion as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

LPNR felicitated Kentaliu Newmai for her “Guru” title under Guru Shishya Parampara Scheme for North East Zone Cultural Centre Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Priscilla Thiumai, president of Liangmai Pui Naga Ruangdi was lauded for her leadership excellence in leading the women community. 

Over 1,000 women and men participated on the occasion. All the participating communities presented their cultural dances to show the unity and fraternity among themselves.
