Linking education to employment

YouthNet and Don Bosco College signs MoU

Kohima, May 29 (MExN): YouthNet and Don Bosco College, Kohima signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on ‘Linking Education to Employment.’

A press release issued by YouthNet informed that the aim of MoU is to impart the college students’ training and real work experience while they are in their final year of college.

Fr. Dr. P. Suresh Innocent SDB, Principal, Don Bosco College, Kohima said that this was a landmark move as students from Don Bosco would get real life work experience while they are still in college.

Director YouthNet, Lezo Putsure shared, we need to equip young people with practical skills beyond class room so when they graduate they are ready to start early and use their time productively.

Linking Education to Employment is a starting tool to bridge this gap, stated Nune Chase, who heads the training and placement agency 'Nagaland Job Centre'. She stated one of students from Don Bosco is also working towards a job in the aviation sector and this program ensures 7O% employment for students looking for jobs. For the other students who want to pursue higher education is has helped in communication, positive attitude, confidence and interpersonal skills.
