Litera Kermis celebrated at St Joseph’s College

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 29 (MExN): The second Litera Kermis of St. Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama, hosted by PG, Department of English was celebrated on October 27 at the College Indoor stadium. 

The programme with the theme ‘Enchanté’ was attended by management members, staff and students, alumni of the department, parents and well-wishers. The programme started at 9:30 am with invocation led by Rev. Fr. Dr. George PezalhoukhoRino, PG Coordinator. James HK, HoD, Department of English, delivered the welcome address in which he also highlighted the motives behind of the event.  

An alumnus of the department, Kekhriesenuo Kiewhuo, news reporter, Hornbill TV, gave an exhortation to the gathering. She spoke on the need to curb tribalism and abuse of drugs and alcoholism from Nagaland especially among the youngsters, citing practical examples from experiences. She also enthused the students that dreams do come true if one works towards it. She drew messages from her earlier life of not being able to self-introduce in public to now being a reporter required quite an effort to overcome her fears.

The competition hour saw events like storytelling, poetry slam, film-making, duet, cosplay, collage making and essay writing in which teams Gryffindor, Ariel, Phoenix Crest and Aurora competed. Team Aurora emerged as the overall champions. 
Thejasanuo Khezhie proposed the vote of thanks before the ball and banquet. The programme was hosted by Neilazenuo Liezietsu and Shevoyi Rhakho.
